How do I add Related & Upsell Items to my products?

Note
To view the product's Related and Upsell tabs, please be sure to enable the "Product Upsell" module in your online store manager's Modules page.

Related Items

When adding or editing products from your Shift4Shop Online Store Manager, the fourth tab on the product creation pages will be labeled "Related." Under the Related Tab, you can customize your product listing to include links to other items in your store that are related to said product.

To add related items to your products:

  1. Go to Products >Product List
  2. Select your product and proceed to its "Related" tab.
  3. Click +Add New at the top right of the page
  4. Select the product from the pop-up window by clicking on the Product's name or using the "Action >Select" button at the far right of its listing.
  5. Repeat for as many products as you would like to add and click on the "Close" button when done.
  6. Click on the "Save" button at the top right to complete the process.

Your related items will now show up on the product's listing page.

Up-selling Items

When adding or editing products from your Shift4Shop Online Store Manager, the fifth tab on the product creation pages will be labeled "Up-selling." Similar to related items, Up-selling Items also display on the product listing page. However, they are labeled as "Accessories" to the product. Typically, accessory items have a higher cost to price ratio than regular products and can therefore increase your profit potential on an order. Hence the name - "up-sell" items.

To add up-sell items to your products:

  1. Go to Products >Product List
  2. Select your product and proceed to its "Up-selling" tab.

In the following example, we've specified related items for a pair of jeans. For the related product, we've selected a shirt since it's a different article of clothing that may appeal to the customer. While for the up-selling item, we've specified a belt - as it is more of an accessory to a pair of jeans.
